ROUND 17 HOME V POWER HOUSE

The “True Blues” were down for lunch and to watch our last home game and we didn’t let our past players and supporters down.

While the first few minutes had Power House putting on a bit of pressure it was not long before we took control. Thorny playing his first game in the centre was doing well and up forward Foxy, Ryan and Robes were kicking the goals. At the end of the first quarter kicking into a breeze we were 4.2 to 0.3.

Barra was setting a good example on ball with Matt L. and Jono providing great support. Ryan and Hodder both kicked 2 goals each for the quarter as we got our running game going and moved the ball well around the ground. We kicked 5.4 to 0.2 to go into the half time break with a 9 goal lead.

After half time the players didn’t relax and kept the pressure right on Power House who had come out and made a game of it. Foxy lifted his game and kicked 3 goals, Barra even with a close tag was still getting the ball at will. Robes, Dougall and Dan were winning plenty of footy and our backline was well on top and being well lead by Bally and Nathan. We kicked 5.5 to 3.1

With the breeze it was time to finish off and that was exactly what we did. With 7 different goal kicker and Ryan kicking 4 we finished full of running. A 10.2 to 1.2 last quarter saw us finish with a 20 goal win against the 6th side.

With 1 game to go against Aquinas before the finals we encourage all supporters to get down to Aquinas College and give us support for this last game. We win, we finish on top and get the double chance.

To the Clubbies you had a great year and I know you all will be disappointed not making the Grand Final. I invite you all too still come down to training and give us your support as we work our way into the finals.
